Under its parent company, Datascrip, PT. Matahari Alka (MALKA) has been providing steel & metals for stationeries and office supplies. Working under Datascrip’s limelight, MALKA needs a strong identity that represents its fresh and dynamic attitude, since they are expanding their business that took metalworks to a lot of new possibilities, yet still echoed the spirit of Datascript. Taking its parent company’s geometric shapes as the logo’s origin, we rotate and rearranged them into the new shapes that served as the logotype.
The sharp edges and spaces between the shapes were inspired by the stenciled effect when letters are laser-cut into the metal surface, thus strengthening MALKA’s image as the metalwork specialist. In addition to branding, these shapes were then applied to the company profile, website, and uniform.
