A brand identity refresh for one of Indonesia's unicorn, Bukalapak, comes after the company's strategic shift while they still continue to serve for small and medium enterprises digitally. We work along with Bukalapak Design to help strengthen their voice and capture their unique personality through a refreshed identity after 10 years of legendary past.
When it comes to giving everyone the same opportunity, it’s important to keep everything simple and in ease of use. This, as well, is echoed on how we put the company’s essence into a symbol that everyone can easily catch on. First, it’s a distinctive monogram B. Next, it’s a symbol of multiple meanings. The logotype has also been refined from its original with the letters all drawn in lowercase.

Named after the brand itself, Buka Sans captures the brand attributes of fun and flexibility both on Display & Text. The custom typeface, developed by Tokotype Studio, is made on the basis of functionality across multiple mediums, hence a wide range of weight is provided.
The extended visual language introduces the concept of spotlight as graphic elements, a portrayal of something that brings you guidance as well as excitement. A more refined color palette is also introduced to accompany Bukalapak’s Crimson that has formerly been a part of their identity.
