It was from August 2019 through to December 2019, our interns Gerwyn, Pierre, and Sasqia assembled. Each with their own different sub of skillset, the three went through their internship period filled with stories of many kinds as well as experiences they had yet to encounter. Just as the rest of all the previous interns, they were set to complete their internship curriculum consisting of 2 briefs, presenting both at the completion of each brief. However, due to the fortunate circumstances that the trio ended their period of internship all together, it was decided that they presented one last wrapping presentation that was a team effort on, thanks to these fortunate circumstances, our Christmas dinner. Long story short, the presentation resulted in many laughs, a few gasps, and plenty of claps. The team effort, to say the least, wrapped what felt like an end to another year despite the few months spent by these interns.
Taking on the theme of Spotify yearly Wrapped campaign, the presentation was tailored to the trio's personal memoirs of our studio. Here's their story.
Gerwyn — We hadn't made a proper presentation then because we were a bit packed with client work. We wanted something good even for a last-minute effort. Spotify's Wrapped is visually interesting as well.
Pierre — It was Gerwyn's idea to do the Spotify thing but I thought, making a parody of the Spotify Wrapped campaign for a farewell presentation was spot-on so we were all on-board.
Sasqia — To be fair, we do use Spotify at the office quite a bit, connected to the speaker Gerwyn brought with him. We requested songs to the DJ of the day whoever it might be. I thought that was a brilliant idea.
Gerwyn — So I did all the motion stuff, it was 2 days and 1 night.
Pierre — I was on layout, assets, and compiling all into the presentation. I think Gerwyn also curated the songs to fit each slide.
Sasqia — I did some of the visual assets and copywriting. It was pretty quick, now that I think about it...
The interns' number 1 designer, and definitely ours too.
Moments captured in October 2019, including Kevin's and Clifford's birthday, Idea Fest 2019, Halloween party, and Bogor T*rip.
The interns learned so many new skills in different fields that they'd turned into linguists, particularly during working on Conjunglyph. Latin is not a dead language after all.
Gerwyn — Interning at Thinking*Room is always all the best of fond memories. Every lunch break, all the gimmicky events, the birthday celebrations, especially our Bogor T*rip. But the most memorable ones are probably that one time Bram spilled coffee big time or that one prank. One that included a lava cake.
Pierre — The three of us would always wait for each other at this one donut shop before we would make our way upstairs. Getting stuck in the emergency exit is another one. Just our daily shenanigans that I miss.
Sasqia — Waiting for Pierre and Gerwyn at this donut before we'd go upstairs. All the pranks. Mini birthday parties. Nearing-end of the day snacks! Overall, they're all just wholesome to me.
Gerwyn — The "minutes worked" slide, "projects we've worked on", "top mentors", and "top quotes". Basically recapping the entirety of our interning experience. It was so satisfying to see how long we've worked together and the projects we got to work on.
Pierre — Honestly, all of them. But I think the activity chart that spells 'Thinking Room' really hit home for me.
Sasqia — I'd say all of them are so good because they're so well-fitted... but I think my absolute favorite ones are the "minutes worked" slide and our profile wrap-ups, they were really neat. And near the end, there was a thank you slide with Daft Punk's Get Lucky. For some reason, I got major goosebumps.
A graph of 'serious quality time together' spent by the three. That's thousands of minutes!
Aside from work, this is pretty much what defines us in one chart interpreted by the three. A personal favorite slide of Pierre's. Can you notice the 'Thinking Room' spelled in the chart?
Gerwyn — Filled with joy. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Pierre — Mixed feelings, I mean I was glad that we passed our internship but also a bit sad to say goodbye.
Sasqia — Everyone gave a lot of positive reactions throughout, lots of laughs too. So I was thrilled. It was truly awesome.
Gerwyn — Proud, I wouldn't have thought the presentation would look decent and would be that enjoyable. Sad that it was our last presentation at Thinking*Room.
Pierre — Relieved. Everyone was excited about it and was entertained by it, even though it was a 2-day effort...
Sasqia — I was surprised that we had come that far as a group, internship- and presenting-wise. I'd say fulfilled? All in all, I really couldn't ask for more.
